You Can Hear Me On The Radio!

|
Once upon a time, yours truly participated in a couple of pageants. It isn’t something I like to mention very often, I would rather take a trip down memory lane through the dust of ballfields, or the squeak of tennis shoes on a freshly mopped gym floor, but nevertheless, it happened.
The funny, and frustrating, thing about pageants was that I did well with the evening gown and swimsuit portions, but as soon as the microphone was put in front of my face, all brain function shut down. I think I literally scored last once in the interview segment.
So you can imagine my sincere moment of panic when a fellow crossfit friend, who happens to be the morning show DJ on a local radio station, and also, as I learned, reads the blog, asked me to come onto his show to talk about The Barn.
I can’t tell you how many hours I spent in a mental war with myself. You know that catchy little quote you see floating around Pinterest from time to time, about if something scares you, you should probably do it? That quote positioned itself in the forefront of my brain, and in spite of my deep fears of interview failure, I agreed to go on the show.
I guess I can now ad radio star to my resume 🙂
I really can’t believe I’m posting this…but here was show #1.
I won’t say it was the best, but it went better than I thought it would. And now, the plan is to go on every other week to discuss the blog, and the weeks in between to talk about one of the publications I work for called Black Hills Parent.
Never in a million years did I think I would have a radio segment, but I’ll admit it’s pretty fun! You can listen online on the 97.5 The Hills website. As of right now the bit seems to be airing around 8:15ish on Friday mornings.
And please, be kind with the comments haha!
