Words Will Hurt You

I first heard about this on Running on Happiness, and it just really struck a chord in me.
Masaru Emoto is a Yokohama born scientist who has been recognized for his out of the box thinking in regards to researching water.
“At length, he realized that it was in the frozen crystal form, that water showed us its true nature.
He has gained worldwide acclaim through his groundbreaking research and discovery, that water is deeply connected to our individual and collective consciousness.
‘We all learn valuable life lessons at our own pace, but there is one basic truth we all learn early. Positive, compassionate words comfort and heal; negative words and insults hurt. Until recently, we knew this only because we could feel it. Now we can actually see it. Thanks to the experimental work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, we can look to water, and its frozen crystals, to confirm the healing power of beautiful music, positive thinking, uplifting speech, and prayer.”
Dr. Emoto’s study showed the effects of positive and pleasant influences (nice words, prayer, peaceful music) as well as the effects of negative influences (mean-spirited phrases and words, harsh music) on water as it formed frozen crystals.
The results speak for themselves.
Crystal formed when exposed to the word “Evil”
Exposed to the words “Love and Gratitude”

Exposed to the word “Peace”

“What is the significance? It becomes clear when we remember that the adult human body is approximately 70% water and infant bodies are about 90% water. We can be hurt emotionally and, as the water can be changed, for the worse physically by negativity. However, we are always closer to beauty when surrounded by positive thoughts, words, intentions and ultimately those vibrations.”
Pretty spectacular right?
Whether you believe in these studies or not, I fully believe words have a profound effect on people, even though many choose not to admit it. In the spirit of the holiday season remember to speak from a place of positivity to yourself and to those around you. You never know what beautiful crystal you may be causing to grow within them.
