The Jamisons In Scotland – Loch Ness & The Urquhart Castle

Inverness was only a short 45 minute drive from the house in Aberdeenshire, but on the way we stopped by Loch Ness to try our luck at spotting Nessie.

And while Nessie stayed hidden, we did happen upon the Urquhart Castle.

We stopped by the gift shop and grabbed a few coffees, tasted some whisky, and bought a couple of souvenirs for Aubrey before heading to the hotel.

The stairwell in our hotel was said to have been the inspiration for the stairs in the Titanic!

We only stayed one short night in Inverness, and due to getting in kind of late, didn’t really get to venture out that night. 

The next morning we stopped by a couple of well known Scottish wool stores (where everyone loaded up on tartan blankets and novelties), then made the long trip to Portree on the Isle of Skye.
