The Jamisons In Scotland: Isle of Skye, Scotland – Portree The Last Night On Skye

| |
For our last night on the island we wanted to enjoy a great seafood dinner and relax, knowing we had a long 5 hour drive back to Edinburgh the next day.
The sun blessed us with a few rays, allowing us to finally see the harbor in all its glory.
We ate at the Sea Breezes restaurant with a view of the harbor, and dined on the daily special of fresh local langoustines and hand-dived scallops.
But we started with an appetizer of fresh oysters that were by far the best oysters I have ever had in my life. They were so perfectly cold, salty and delicious!
A few photo ops by the water…
And a mini photo shoot of this 9 MONTH OLD!!! Seriously, I can’t believe her 1 year birthday is creeping around the corner!
On the drive out we stopped in the rain so I could grab a quick pic of this waterfall, then we set off on the journey back to the city.
Will’s parents were leaving early the next morning and we had one final night in Edinburgh by ourselves. We walked around parts of the city we hadn’t made it to yet, ate another round of steak and ale pie, downed a few more pints in the lingering sunshine, then turned in to get some rest for the next day’s flight home.
It was much needed.
And then our grand European vacation was over.
I’ll admit I was a little sad. Of course I was exhausted, and tired of playing tourist, but I told Will I could have easily taken a week off, lounged around a bit, then went back at it. Alas, such is life for someone suffering from unquenchable wanderlust.
Now to plan for our next adventure!
