NC Mountain State Fair

It was still 90+ degrees, and we probably would have been more comfortable sunbathing at the lake, but we finally had a weekend that didn’t include a long list of house projects so we rallied up Aunt Hannah and Uncle “Geffy” and headed to the fair.

We had the bright idea to go during the day hoping to avoid the crowds, and also trying to maneuver around nap time so our little munchkin would be in her best mood. That backfired on us when she fell asleep in the car on the way there. Thankfully the endless amount of farm animals and sugary treats helped tide the beast over.

We saw baby cows, silly goats, and adorable chicks.

Stuffed our faces with all the delicacies of fair food.

Like giant smoked turkey legs…

and frozen cheesecake on a stick (dipped in chocolate of course)…

and fried oreos – which was actually a first for me.

We rode the carousel and some kiddie ride shaped like bees, and that was enough round and round to do Mama and Papa.

And with that our day of fun at the fair came to a close. Next year I believe we will opt for cooler nighttime temps, but definitely will repeat the frozen cheesecake :).
